How an acquisition runs

Nine stages, and you follow all of them

Every stage carries a document, a date and a name. Nothing moves forward because somebody says it has.

  1. 01

    Requirement definition

Mission profile, runway constraints, range with real payload, budget including the first two years of ownership.

  2. 02

    Market search

Every candidate, advertised or not, with our valuation beside each asking price.

  3. 03

    Shortlist

Three to five ranked aircraft, with the reason each one is on the list and the finding that would take it off.

  4. 04

    Letter of intent

Price, deposit, inspection scope and walk-away conditions agreed before anybody travels.

  5. 05

    Pre-purchase inspection

At a facility with no commercial relationship to the seller. Discrepancy list priced, then negotiated.

  6. 06

    Escrow

Funds and title with an independent escrow agent. We never touch client money.

  7. 07

    Closing

Bill of sale, deregistration, registration, lien search and release, insurance bound.

  8. 08

    Delivery

Ferry flight, import, VAT position, crew familiarisation, handover of the operating manual.

  9. 09

    First year

Maintenance plan, budget against actuals, valuation refreshed at twelve months.

How we are paid and what we are not

The conflicts of interest, written down

This industry keeps its incentives to itself. Here are ours.

  • We never hold client funds

Purchase money moves through an independent escrow agent who also runs the title search. We are not a party to that account.

  • One side per transaction

We act for the buyer or for the seller, never both. Dual agency is the exact point at which a broker's interest stops matching yours.

  • Our fee does not follow the price you pay

On a buy-side mandate we are paid a fixed fee agreed before the search starts. A percentage of the purchase price would reward us for you overpaying.

  • We are not an air operator

Charter is tendered across several operators on the merits of each trip. We have no fleet to fill.

  • The regulatory position

Commercial air transport requires an AOC in Europe or a Part 135 certificate in the United States, held by an operator. Continuing airworthiness sits with an approved CAMO. We coordinate both without pretending to be either.

Where we work

Wherever the aircraft happens to be

An aircraft is a mobile asset and its market is worldwide. A seller in Sao Paulo, an inspection in Basel, a buyer in Riyadh and an escrow agent in Oklahoma City is an ordinary working week.
